I met Ashley when we were in college at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC working at a Chili’s on campus. She was always the sweetest and happiest person to work with! After we both left that company we remained friends and kept in touch as schedules allowed! I even dyed her hair for her back in the day! haha So when she asked me to do her engagement photos and capture her wedding day I was SO excited! I had only met Bailey one time prior to their engagement session when they were both graduating from ECU and needed their graduation pictures done but could immediately tell how much they loved each other.
We had their engagement session in New Bern, NC where they lived at the time and it’s also where they got married! It was a beautiful day in New Bern and the girls were all at the Isaac Taylor Gardens getting ready. Ashley’s dress was absolutely stunning as it had a tie on train that she used for her first look with her soon to be hubby and the ceremony. I LOVED it. Once she was ready we headed over to the Tryon Palace for her and Bailey’s first look.
Ashley walked down this beautiful stretch of vines towards Bailey. When he turned around he was wow’ed at the sight of his stunning bride. We hung around for a few to take some portraits of the two of them and then they exchanged gifts. Both were so thoughtful. Bailey had a written letter inscribed on a glass heart and Ashley had their love story painted out on a beautiful canvas. After the exchange we headed back to the Isaac Taylor Garden to get ready for the ceremony.
Ashley was walked down the aisle by her father who couldn’t hold back his emotions as he walked his daughter down to her next journey in life. It was so sweet seeing his emotions on the way down. I remember how funny their officiant was and there was a lot of laughs during the ceremony. They said their vows, kissed and headed back down the aisle as husband and wife. Ashley was clearly SUPER excited she finally married her man.
Wedding portraits were a blast! They rented a trolly that we took to a few different places around New Bern. And of course we couldn’t not get a few shots on the trolly! They dropped us off at the Stanley Ball Room as we began to get ready for the big party! The night was so much fun as the DJ had many different games up her sleeve as well as a trick played on the guy who caught the garter thinking he was putting in on the girl who caught the bouquet. Think again haha. They ended their night with a sparkler exit outside of the Ballroom and headed off to start their lives together! Check out their wedding story below! <3
