Hey y’all! I have really been slacking on my blog lately and Im hoping to kick it up a little! Im excited to share this BEAUTIFUL wedding that is at one of my favorite local venues here in Ayden, NC, Longstraw Farms. This antique wedding venue is literally right in my back yard so when Caitlyn told me her wedding was here I was stoked.
The greenery surrounding this venue is just stunning and all of the decor came together perfectly. One of my favorite details is the plant ceremony decor. I have never seen a couple do a planting ceremony together instead of your traditional candles or sand. I thought it was really unique to Caitlyn and Elliot’s wedding ceremony. They also had some fun games set up for guests during cocktail hour while the wedding party got their pictures done.
The girls had to celebrate a little with a champagne toast on the porch before heading to the bridal room to get ready. As they were putting on their dresses Caitlyn went out into the living area by herself to put the finishing touches on her vows. Those may be some of my favorite (before ceremony) shots. Once her vows were set in stone she headed to put her dress on and have a moment of prayer with her mother.
Before walking down the aisle Caitlyn had to get one last workout in. If she’s that dedicated the Elliot is one lucky groom! Caitlyn entered through beautifully made barn doors and headed down an aisle lined with pews to say I do. There were some laughs, a tear or two, but most importantly love sealed with a kiss.
After family and wedding party portraits were done we took Caitlyn and Elliot over to a secluded wooded area for their portraits. We also stole them after dinner to catch some sunset portraits as well. I love this time with the bride and groom because it’s really the first time the get to be alone (plus us lol) and away from guests. Having that time together, and just telling them to embrace each other and reflect on what all just happened really makes for some beautiful portraits.
Their reception was SO much fun. There was so much dancing, twirling, sing-offs, and laughter. They were’ so nice when it came to feeding each other cake and went for the face! After dancing the rest of the night away they also had a unique send-off… COW BELLS! It was a loud celebration as the two left their wedding day to begin their life as husband and wife! Check out their wedding day below!
